REGISTER TO VOTE

To register to vote, you must be:
  • A U.S. citizen
  • A Maryland resident
  • At least 16 years old*
However, you cannot register to vote if you:
  • Have been convicted of buying or selling votes;
  • Are under guardianship for mental disability and found by a court to be unable to communicate a desire to vote; or
  • Are currently serving a sentence of imprisonment for a felony conviction
*You may register to vote if you are at least 16 years old but cannot vote unless you will be at least 18 years old by the next general election.

2026 ELECTION DATES

Primary Election 
Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with options to vote early, or by mail or drop box. 

Early Voting for the Primary Election:
Thursday, June 11 through Thursday, June 18, 2026. Early voting locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day during this period, including weekends.
General Election
November 3, 2026 | 7am - 8pm

Early Voting for the General Election:
October 22, 2026 - October 29, 2026

REQUEST A MAIL-IN BALLOT

Any registered voter may vote by mail-in ballot. You don't need a reason to vote by mail-in ballot.

Mail-In Ballot Request Deadline:
  • You can request your mail-in ballot online. Voting by mail is safe, secure and free. You will not need a stamp to return your ballot—the envelope will already have postage on it.
  • ​Voters simply need to fill out their ballot, sign the oath on the envelope, and place it back in the mail or drop it in a secure ballot drop box location. Make sure your ballot is postmarked on or before June 23, 2026. For questions, email the Voter Services Department at [email protected].
