VACANCY: Baltimore County Board of Elections
There is a current and immediate vacancy on the Baltimore County Board of Elections (BOE) due to the resignation of an appointed Board member.
In accordance with state law and established procedures, four (4) qualified candidates must be nominated and submitted to the Governor's Office of Appointments for consideration. All nominees must have been registered voters in Baltimore County for the last five years and must be registered Democrats.
To that end, a General Committee Meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, January 6, at 7:00 PM. This meeting will be for the express purpose of nominating a candidate to fill this sudden vacancy on the Baltimore County Board of Elections.

Role and Expectations:
Members of the Board of Elections play a critical onsite role during:
- The eight (8) days of Early Voting
- General Election Day
- The ten (10) days following the General Election, including certification of the vote
- BOE members work side by side with professional election staff to resolve issues in real time and to ensure the integrity and certification of the vote. Given what is expected to be one of the most contentious and challenging election cycles in years, it is essential that this vacancy be filled by an experienced applicant.
The selected nominee must be:
- Serious, experienced, and immediately available
- Able to begin service without delay
- Willing to step away from all political involvement
- Easily confirmable by the Governor as a competent and credible replacement
- Prepared to be vetted, sworn in, and operational by the opening day of the General Assembly
- Able to hit the ground running based on prior knowledge and experience with elections or election administration.
Required Submission Materials:
Every applicant must submit each of the following by Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.:
- A Letter of Intent
- A completed Application to the Baltimore County Board of Elections. (Here is a link to the application portal that all appointees must fill out).
- A completed Application to the Baltimore County Democratic State Central Committee (BCDSCC) to be sent to [email protected]
- A current résumé

- A 1-2 minute presentation to be delivered during the General Committee Meeting on January 6, 2026
