The Front Page: Democrats Deliver Again!

4/7/2022

On April 7, 2022, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson made history as the first black woman confirmed to Supreme Court, the nation’s highest court in its 233-year history. The Senate voted  53-to-47 to approve Judge Jackson to the Supreme Court. Democrats worked hard to secure three republican votes to confirm her nomination, making history and helping President Biden deliver on a key campaign pledge. Justice-elect Jackson will replace Justice Stephen G. Breyer.

Baltimore County Police Accountability Board: Democrats Deliver on the Local Level!

4/4/2022

On April 4, 2022, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski (D) introduced legislation to the Baltimore County Council to create the PAB. The proposed bill creates a nine-member PAB, including one member from each County Council district and two at-large members.

The County is seeking input from residents on establishing the PAB, including feedback on the process, functions, and membership. Any interested member of the public should submit written input to
PAB@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Residents can provide legislative testimony before the County Council on April 26, 2022.
Olszewski will make appointments to the PAB following the passage of the County Council legislation.

For more information about the PAB legislation or public input opportunities, visit the PAB webpage. Those interested in serving on the PAB should submit their information here.

Campaign Training Opportunities

4/2/2022

The Maryland Democratic Party, together with the DNC Best Practices Institute, are excited to announce the launch of our 2022 Train the Trainer (T3) Webinar Training Program!

T3 is a free six-week, twelve-part webinar course covering several aspects of grassroots campaigning. This program seeks to expand the skills of progressive activists and volunteers by ensuring that comprehensive training is free and accessible for Democrats all over the country. Click here to register. The training is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00–8:00 pm ET, from May 24, through June 30. The deadline to register is May 22 at 11:59 pm ET. Participants must complete all twelve sessions to receive certification. All training sessions will include a skills test to track retention and participation. Each session will be recorded and made available following each session via a weekly wrap-up email, delivered on Fridays, so participants may still complete the program, even if they cannot attend the live session. Registration will close at 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, May 22.  Please share widely with your networks.
